Giulia and Sascha’s Four-Handed Dream: When Passion Finds a Home at "Aregonuccy"
Giulia and Sascha’s Four-Handed Dream: When Passion Finds a Home at "Aregonuccy"
There are stories that do not need grand stages to shine, because their light comes from simplicity, daily dedication, and a touch of courage. Giulia and Sascha’s story is exactly that: a tale of two different paths that intertwined to create something unique and deeply personal. A choice rooted in love and sharing led them to open the doors of their own home, turning it into their personal Home Restaurant project: Aregonuccy.
In the Green Heart of Cardedu: The Lands of Pelau
To truly understand the essence of this project, one must let themselves be embraced by the surrounding landscape. We are in Cardedu, nestled in the picturesque plains of the lands of Pelau. Here, where Sardinian nature shows itself in all its proud beauty, the vibrant green of vineyards and olive groves brings an authentic sense of peace.
Stepping into Aregonuccy in this corner of Ogliastra means experiencing an immersive journey through local territory and culinary culture. Tied deeply to the land, local tradition becomes the thread that connects respect for regional raw ingredients with the meeting of two stories born elsewhere that found their home right here.
Two Paths, One Passion
The story began twelve years ago in Germany, at a pastry making school. It was there that Giulia took her first steps, facing three intense years of study and practice to learn the art of precision, patience, and the pursuit of the perfect dessert. Since then, that dedication has never left her, becoming the solid foundation upon which to build the future.
On the other side is Sascha, whose background is entirely rooted in the world of catering and hospitality. Right from the beginning, Sascha dedicated special care and attention to the art of pizza making, driven by a sincere passion for doughs and the enhancement of ingredients. For him, welcoming people to the table is a lifestyle—a simple and direct way to connect with guests through flavors.
A Journey Through Traditional Flavors
The culinary experience at Aregonuccy is designed to bring out the very best of what Sardinia and the local territory have to offer. Guests can choose their ideal culinary path through three distinct menus: land, sea, or vegetarian. Each menu is crafted around genuine local products, reinterpreted through ancient recipes that pass down the memory and identity of the place. It is a way to rediscover forgotten flavors, where the freshness of the ingredients meets the historical heritage of local cuisine.
A Four-Handed Immersive Experience
Giulia and Sascha have combined the precision and delicacy of pastry making with the strength and care that Sascha puts into pizza making and gastronomy, blending everything with the affection and enthusiasm that bind them together.
But the true soul of the project lies in the choice of location. Instead of looking for an impersonal commercial space, they wanted to make an authentic choice: bringing Aregonuccy to life right where they live. The doors of their home open to welcome people into an intimate setting, where the barrier between the kitchen and the dining area completely disappears. Anyone who sits at their table is not just a customer, but an awaited guest, welcomed into the warmth of a real, living home surrounded by greenery.
"For us, this place is not just a job: it is our four-handed dream."
A Daily Inspiration
The Aregonuccy Home Restaurant project reminds us that the most beautiful realities are those born from synergy and the courage to put oneself out there, sharing not only food but also one's living space and deep connection to the land. There is no need to show off when you cook from the heart; true excellence is seen in the care put into traditional dishes, the precision of a dessert, the warmth of a welcome, and the generosity of sharing the good, simple things of Cardedu.
Giulia and Sascha’s project is an invitation to believe in your dreams, to put your experience to good use, and to remember that sometimes, happiness and great food are found right around a home table, surrounded by nature, set with love.
